WOMEN'S MINISTRY SUMMER BOOK CLUB

We will meet four times during the summer:

  • July 13
  • July 20*
  • August 3
  • August 10

All meetings are on Mondays at 7PM at Pam Keller’s house, 4043 Sykesville Road in Finksburg. Zoom option is also available. Contact Pam for more information.

You will need a copy of the book to read. There is a companion workbook, but we will not be going through it together so it is not necessary to purchase that unless you want to go through the video teaching on your own.

*Join us prior to the Book Club meeting for Food Truck Monday at Faith Family Church, just down the street from Pam’s house. Food Trucks are open from 4 – 7PM. Please plan to arrive by 5:30 so we are able to eat and fellowship before heading to Pam’s for the meeting.

THE BOOK:

If there was a core lie sabotaging your life, wouldn't you want to know what it is? And wouldn't you want to find the way to be free?

Most of us have been living inside a lie for so long that it feels like the truth. It has quietly shaped our identity, our relationships, and even how we see God. Until we see it, we'll keep circling the same frustrations, the same shame, the same thoughts of I'll never change. But freedom is possible.

At the center of this book is a powerful idea: most of our struggles trace back to one core lie we've unknowingly believed—I'm helpless, I'm worthless, or I'm unlovable. These lies don't just live in our thoughts; they shape our relationships and our everyday choices. What feels like personality or circumstance is often something deeper. This book helps you identify that story, understand how it took root, and replace it with truth so you can experience real, lasting freedom.

In The Lie You Don't Know You Believe, Jennie Allen pulls back the curtain on the enemy's oldest trick—and shows you how to dismantle it with the spiritual authority you already have in Christ. She guides you through how to:

  • Spot the three core lies everyone believes—and name the one running your life
  • Trace the moment your lie took root and how the enemy has been using it to keep you stuck
  • Cut ties with your old narratives so they stop shaping your choices
  • Challenge lies in real time and replace them with God's truth

This isn't about behavior modification. This is about transferring your life out of the enemy's kingdom of lies and into the kingdom of light—where joy, peace, and strength aren't fleeting feelings but your everyday reality.
